Mind the Health Gap

Mind the Health Gap is a year-long project developed by Greater Govanhill and The Ferret. The aim is to understand health inequalities in the country and how we solve them.

The project began with a community listening project in Govanhill to better understand how people were being affected by the growing divide in health between different sections of Scottish society. Using these prompts, the Ferret then conducted Scotland-wide investigations into some of the issues uncovered.

Partners then reported on solutions to these issues, from within Govanhill, across Scotland and further afield.

As part of this project, Scottish Beacon partners have shared stories about how the communities they serve are developing solutions to mitigate the damaging effects of health inequalities at different levels.

The Mind the Health Gap project is funded by the European Journalism Centre, through the Solutions Journalism Accelerator. This fund is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
