Long ago, when someone passed away in the Vale of Leven, their relatives and friends had to carry their coffin over the hills from Balloch to Cardross for burial. This was a difficult and solemn journey, full of superstitions and traditions.
Paul Murdoch retraces this ancient route and reveals some of the stories and beliefs of the coffin bearers. Along the way, he also showcases some of the most stunning views that West Dunbartonshire has to offer, from Loch Lomond to the Clyde.
