The Power Shift Live is a one day event happening in Glasgow on 10 April, that will bring together writers, researchers, activists and local journalists to discuss the renewables revolution.
We will be publishing our new magazine and launching a new network for environmental journalists.
The event builds on The Scottish Beacon’s collaborative reporting project and will launch a special one-off print magazine featuring stories from independent community publications across Scotland. We have writing from Shetland, Sutherland, Stonehaven, Glenkens and Argyll. We are exploring innovations in renewable energy technology and policy, best practices in community ownership, and digging deeper about the nature of the opportunities we face.
You can pre-order your free copy of the magazine here: The Power Shift – magazine from The Scottish Beacon — Greater Govanhill.
The day will explore how the shift to renewable energy is unfolding across the country – including questions of community ownership, local benefit and who holds power in Scotland’s energy future.
Participants will hear from researchers, campaigners and practitioners working on energy and climate, alongside journalists working on these stories.
We particularly encourage journalists and editors interested in climate, energy and community reporting to attend. We will also introduce a new environmental journalism network in Scotland aimed at connecting reporters and strengthening coverage of these issues.
